With the recent shooting of 10 students at a community college in Oregon, discussion of what should be done about guns has ignited across America. Under the second amendment, citizens of the United States are granted the right to bare arms. The founding fathers strongly supported this right because they feared a future where the citizenry could not overthrow a corrupt government. Hundreds of years later, Americans wonder what proper restrictions should be implemented to keep guns from getting into the wrong hands. Although opinions are varied across the political spectrum, most believe in more rigorous mental health screening for potential gun owners.
