In hopes of creating a more secure network on the university, Virginia Tech has transitioned to using the third-party authentication app called Duo-Mobile. Students are adapting to the use of the application that is now an academic requirement. To log in to the websites necessary for academic use, faculty and students must use a smartphone or other smart device to access the site. Although Duo-Mobile aims to protect the network, the app might be more trouble than it’s worth. With both pros and cons, all of Virginia Tech is adjusting to this new development at the university.
