SPORTS: Puck drops again in Roanoke

In its inaugural season, the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs hockey team has drawn more attention to hockey in the valley since the Roanoke Express hockey team derailed in 2004. The team draws about 3,000 guests on average to the newly refurbished arena and ice rink at the Berglund Center. Guests and businesses alike didn’t need much warming up to the idea of the typically-northern sport coming to a southern town.
